Birth Story of “Release”

How much longer do I have to put my life on hold?
How much longer do I have to hide my sadness with a smile?
How much longer do I have to silence my screams?

As I sat with these thoughts, an energizing feeling rushed through my body. I picked up a paintbrush and wrote “release” across the canvas. I began to see feathers and wings, it turned out to be a bird in flight.
I whispered to the universe “I do not know how to get there, please grant me vision so that I can see, and let my spirit fly like a dove set free.”
The painting began to look like me holding my child. We are glowing in the darkness.
